The entire EZiSYSTEM is built around a safety first way of thinking. Therefore, from the moment you switch on your EZiCAT locator you are in full sensitivity, ensuring you do not miss those deep buried cables and the locator always turns on in power mode. People often ask us why we switch on in power mode and the answer is simple, research has shown that the most damaging cables strikes occur when an operator hits a power cable; by switching on in power mode we are trying to minimize injury to you and your equipment.
The EZiCAT 100 unit is used for basic avoidance and location of cables and pipes buried in the ground. It is designed to help avoid damage to underground services during excavation and is an easy to operate, automatic location system, created with safety in mind.
It detects alternating (AC) electromagnetic signals radiated due to currents flowing in conductive buried services. The operator is given the location and direction of the underground service when the unit receives reradiated radio frequencies through internal aerials, which detect the strength and direction of the received signals.
There are several vital safety features are built into the EZiCAT 100 rarely found in other cable avoidance tools.

The

The EZiCAT 200 unit is used for the avoidance and location of cables and pipes buried in the ground with the added benefit of depth estimation in cooperation with the EZiTRACE or the Sonde in 33kHz mode. Using the depth feature you can get the real depth and location of a service with an accuracy of approx. ± 10%. But remember the depth estimation is given to the very centre of the service so how far you dig is dependant on how wide the circumference of the service is!

The EZiTRACE dual frequency generator is the perfect tracing partner for the
EZiCAT locator. When used with the EZiSYSTEM accessories and the EZiCAT, the
EZiTRACE can help you trace the more difficult buried services without a
naturally present signal. Enclosed in a high impact structural polypropylene
case, the EZiTRACE is a tough piece of equipment built to last on the rough
construction environment. 
The EZiTRACE generates a specific "active" signal that can then be traced using the EZiCAT 100.

For
use with drain rods and the EZiCAT to trace non-metallic pipes (33 KHz version).
The EZiSYSTEM Sonde is a small battery powered transmitter, which can be connected to a simple drain rod system. The signals are used to indicate the position when inserted into an underground service such as a drain, duct, pipe or sewer. It can also be attached to other moving objects such as boring tools or cameras.

Signal Clamp
Where
it is not possible or unsafe to make a direct connection to the core of a target
cable, (such as live power or telecom cables) the signal clamp may be clipped
around the outer sheath.

The PCS is plugged into a live electricity mains cable within the property, (preferably as close to the consumer unit as possible) and the other connector plugged into the EziTRACE. The EziTRACE and EZiCAT, set to the same operating mode (8 or 33 kHz), can now be used to trace the electricity cable away from the property.

The
EZiROD is a length of coiled fibre-glass rod which enables the complete length
of a non – metallic drain, duct or pipe to be traced when used in conjunction
with the EZiTRACE and EZiCAT. The EZiROD is available in coiled lengths of 30m,
50m or 80m.
The EZiROD is connected to the EZiTRACE and inserted and pushed along the
service under investigation. Using the EZiCAT to locate it on the surface, you
can
trace pipes which do not produce their own current and which you are unable to
induce a signal into.
